The winner of a competition to find the “most beautiful sound in the world” turned out to be the sound of frogs calling in a Malaysian swamp. The other finalist entries, such as the song of the lyrebird, are similarly entrancing (you can listen to them here). It is interesting that most of the finalist entries came from nature sounds. To be able to listen to the beautiful sounds of frog choruses is yet another reason to save the frogs. I have to say, though, that my personal favorite frog call still might be that of the tungara frog (Engystomops pustulosus) (listen here).
